Wang Church
The old, medieval Wang Church in Karpacz is a very good starting point for climbing Śnieżka mountain - the highest point in Karkonosze (1603 m). It has been built (without a single nail!) in Norway in 12th century, and brought to Karpacz by Prussians in 19th century, when they occupied our country. The building and its surrounding creates a mystic atmosphere and you can definitely feel Nordic vibes inside!

Road from Wang Church to Mały Staw
After leaving Wang, you hike on a rather easy way, climbing slowly up. The views are very nice here, and you can easily see the target - Śnieżka. Most probably, you won't be tired a lot, while reaching the next waypoint - Mały Staw and Samotnia.
My rating: 7/10

Samotnia
Samotnia is probably the most famous tourist hut in all Karkonosze. it's located in a picturesque place, at the strand od Mały Staw - a rather not very big, but very beautiful lake of the glacial nature. When I went there this year - I was much more impressed by the lake and surrounding mountains, as the pandemic restrictions did not allow me to feel the magic of the hut.
My rating: 9/10

Strzecha Akademicka
Strzecha Akademicka is another mountain hut on a road to Śnieżka. As it's quite near to Samotnia, I didn't feel like wasting time to rest again, and just passed by this time.

Równia pod Śnieżką
Równia pod Śnieżką is a Plateau, a place on a final walk before the true climbing. Beautiful views on the majestic mountains and surrounding valleys are to be seen there. The road is broad and easy, so you can easily enjoy the surrounding landscape. And prepare for a tough challenge!

Zbocza Śnieżki
Śnieżka is not the easiest mountain to climb even in summer at a nice weather. There are few reasons for that: the slope is steep indeed and you' rather be fit, if you want to take the challenge. Two - the weather. Even if at Równia pod Śnieżką the day is warm and sunny, at the slopes it might be not. The temperature falls quite quickly, and there's strong wind almost all the time. Also mist and drizzle won't be something unusual. Well, in winter it's even much more hard... On the peak there are some points to see - the old meteorological observatory, looking as an UFO. The St. Lawrence chapel. And the Czech postal office, when you can also sit, eat and drink something hot. Did I say - Czech? Indeed. The mountain lies exactly on the Polish-Czech border, and both countries can be proud of it. The views are breathtaking, and you sight can reach even over 200 km, if the conditions are perfect. But even if they are not, they are still worth all these hours of climbing :)
